Renji Hospital was built in 1844 and was the first Western medicine hospital in Shanghai after its opening. The hospital is currently composed of four hospital districts in the east, west, north, south, and Shanghai Cancer Research Institute. It is a comprehensive tertiary first-class hospital with a complete range of disciplines, integrating medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research.
